THE PROMISS PLAYBOOK · PRACTICAL GUIDE

Your 10-minute workday routine

Your alarm went off late. Your first meeting did not move. Here is a routine that leaves room for breakfast—and still feels like you.

SHORT ON TIME? START HERE
  1. Start with your usual gentle skincare. Let it settle before makeup.
  2. Apply a light base only where you want coverage; blend at the jaw and check in daylight.
  3. Brush brows, add a little blush, and use mascara if you like. Makeup is always optional.
  4. Finish with a comfortable lip colour. Pack that lip product for a quick touch-up.

Choose your finish line

Decide what would make you feel ready: a comfortable base, tidy brows, a little colour, or no makeup. Put only those products on the table. A familiar five-step routine is more useful on a work morning than an unfamiliar twenty-step tutorial.

Make ten minutes realistic

Keep skincare and sunscreen in your usual routine and follow their directions; these minutes refer to makeup, not waiting times. Spend about three minutes on optional coverage, two on brows and eyes, two on cheeks and lips, and one checking edges in daylight. Leave a buffer instead of filling every minute.

Keep a three-minute backup

When time disappears, brush brows, use one familiar colour product and leave. Only use a product on both cheeks and lips if it is labeled for those areas. You can arrive work-ready with bare skin; being prepared matters more than completing every beauty step.

A real-life moment

First presentation at 9am? Use the routine you practised last weekend. Check your face in ordinary light, pack one lip product and spend the remaining minutes reviewing your opening sentence.

Easy mistakes—and a better starting point

  • Trying a new formula on an important morning.
  • Adding coverage every time you notice normal skin texture.
  • Skipping removal because the application was light.

The questions you might be quietly asking

Do I need makeup to look professional?

No. Clean, comfortable clothing and appropriate grooming can be enough. If you enjoy makeup, start with one or two steps rather than a full face.

What is a simple ten-minute routine?

Start with your usual skincare and sunscreen, then add light coverage only where wanted, brush brows, use a little blush and finish with a comfortable lip colour. Skip any step you do not need.

What if I only have three minutes?

Keep skincare and sun protection in your routine; choose one quick finishing step such as brows or tinted lip balm. Prepare your clothes and bag the evening before.

In what order should I apply makeup?

After skincare and sunscreen have settled, apply optional base, concealer, cheek colour, brows, eye makeup and lips. Product instructions may change the order, especially for cream and powder layering.

How can I look fresh without looking heavily made up?

Use thin layers, soften edges and check your face in daylight. Keep coverage where you want it rather than covering every area equally.

What should I carry for workday touch-ups?

A lip product, tissues or blotting paper, a small mirror and any sun-protection product you use. Avoid carrying a whole kit unless you need it.
